Cornwall Council

An interior brand strategy to unify a multi-functional complex public building.

Anna worked with Cornwall Council at the outset on the transformation of County Hall in 2010 creating a council wide strategy for their workplace interiors in association with strategists PlaceMaking.

Returning in 2016 she partnered with architects PBWC on the interior design delivery for Chy Trevail – a civic building public which blurred the lines between public and private spaces.

Striving to welcome and separate users furniture and finishes were a key tool in achieving intuitive navigation, supported by material and product specifications that reflected this landmark building for Cornwall.

Hotel Interior Design Anna Hart 03

Our remit included full FF&E specification and procurement with the objective that we retained and work into our scheme existing high quality furniture and features from within the hotel.

We utilised local makers and crafts people for bespoke joinery work and enlisted the help of french-polishers to restore existing casegoods. Each phase included an extensive amount of reupholstery which was complemented by a limited number of new pieces.

Social spaces that were under utilised were redesigned and reconfigured to create places for guests to enjoy additional moments in their overall experience of the hotel.

The spa was a new build phase of the project with the ambition to further appeal to a broader customer profile and to increase vital year round occupancy. In the first year advanced bookings increased by 25% coupled with a year-on-year increase of in revenue and the hotel has now been awarded AA 4-star status.
